The Role

We are looking for the Head of our India offices HR Operations. We currently have two locations (and growing) and we need an HR Leader who will further enhance our employee-friendly values and policies so that all employees feel the strengths of our inclusive culture where they can grow in their careers, do their best work and do it with joy and friends all around them.

We have a global HR team that works together to make Visible Alpha a great place to work in every aspect and this position is the leader of these efforts for India. You bring integrity, professional sophistication and strong values to all of our HR processes from payroll to benefits, from performance management to promotions, from HR systems to employee relations. You are also an exemplary people manager to your team and truly enjoy being part of a global HR team where you raise the bar for everyone on the team.

This position reports to the CHRO located in the US,  with a dotted line to the GM, India, and is located in our Mumbai office. The person will manage a team of 6 including HR Generalists and Recruiters.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead local payroll, benefits, and compensation processes
  • Lead local regular & annual processes such as goal & performance management, promotions, year end compensation change 
  • Own all local HR systems in collaboration with the global Data Analyst and assure that local data is enabling local and global decision making
  • Developing and writing local HR policies in line with our employee-friendly values which are striking the right balance of company and employee needs 
  • Solving employee relations concerns with empathy and strength
  • Finding ways to support our employees with local and global initiatives
  • Collaborating with the Director, HRBP to create and implement the best HR solutions  
  • Assure that VA India is meeting all requirements which allow it to be certified as a Great Place to Work
  • Supports the company’s growth and scaling by identifying needs for change and leads the implementation and adaptation of new or changing structures.
  • Be an essential and highly respected member of the global senior HR leadership team through your insights, creativity, collaboration and the trust you have built for on-time delivery

Who You Are

  • Relevant post graduation degree required.
  • 12+ years of experience in HR and at least 3+ years leading HR Operations , in a Fin-tech or Tech environment 
  • At  least 5+ years leading payroll, compensation processes, benefits and annual processes such as annual compensation increases, performance management, promotions in a very thorough, structured and timely manner
  • 5+ years experience being an important  leader among a global HR team and harmonizing global policies with local needs
  • Extremely competent process orientation that always delivers beyond expectation and on time
  • Outstanding skills in writing employee policies and dealing with all levels of employee relations concerns in a caring and employee friendly approach keeping the concerns of the company and all employees balanced
  • Experience implementing and using global HR systems to their highest capabilities
  • Experience ensuring not only a Great Places to Work environment but also going through the certification process
  • The highest degree of personal integrity and care for the business and its people shows through in every decision
  • Deep understanding of "what great HR looks like" and how to scale people practices as the company scales
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Effective Communication/Facilitation, both written and verbal
  • Excellent software skills, including G Suite, Excel, PPT, ATS and HRMS systems
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally, as appropriate.
